The Ford F-150 was my father's truck; he bought it new in 1985. After his death in 1989, I bought it from my mother. It had the long bed so I could carry a full sheet of plywood with no problem. It had the Ford 300 CID inline-6 and a three speed with overdrive (four forward gears). As is typical with Ford, the grossly under-power their vehicles and overdrive was useless unless driving downhill with a tail-wind. Be that as it may, the truck served me well for a couple years until I traded it even up with my boss at the time for the Ford Ranger.
